Mental Health is Health is a month-long campaign by Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, bringing attention to mental health parity and equity needs, especially of children, adolescents and young adults. The campaign will generate awareness of suicide prevention, prioritize mental well-being, and provide access to information for people who need help.
To engage the community and educate the public on vital mental health systems change, Didi Hirsch will host social media activations throughout May tied to the following weekly themes:
- Health Heroes
- Youth in Crisis
- Crisis Care Continuum
- Whole Person Care
On Friday, April 29, the City of Los Angeles and Councilmember Nithya Raman proclaimed May as Mental Health is Health Month

How I Look/How I Feel Challenge
Join the #HowILookHowIFeel challenge to show that life is more than pretty pictures, and that young people struggling with mental health challenges are not alone! You are encouraged to share the juxtaposition of how you look, immediately followed by an image depicting how you “really” feel inside. Add an end card to your video from our social media toolkit to share important mental health statistics that will ignite conversation and spread awareness.
Ask A Therapist
Access to mental health resources is vital. In May, we have therapists available for you! Check out our Instagram.
#AskATherapist, we highlighted @therapywitherica. #MentalHealthIsHealth Month 💙
Just Checking On You

How are you feeling, REALLY? Every Tuesday, tune in to Didi Hirsch’s Instagram story to let us know how you’re doing. Every week you can look forward to one of our VIP advocates checking in on you and inviting you to show us how you’re doing using the “add yours” sticker. We hope that this weekly campaign will encourage you to check in on your loved ones and to ignite conversation around mental health.
